CHRISTMAS MIRACLES contains two historical romance novellas that were originally published in the anthology "Their First Noel" in 1995. Both stories are about pregnant widows and the the unexpected but kindly men who come to their rescue... They are clean in that neither contains any sex scenes or other descriptive sexual behavior, however, Mason's book did have some language many may find objectionable such as the "b" word in reference to Gray's ex-wife (which to be fair, she was) and one use of the word dam and it. I also noticed a number of typos that kind of annoyed me at times but not excessively so. My real complaint lies with the the change of scenes that came out of nowhere. There was nothing to ever indicate when a new scene appeared and at times I was caught off guard when the subject matter would literally change in the blink of an eye.FATHER CHRISTMAS by Leigh Greenwood - 3 STARS
Delivering a young widow's baby during the holiday season transforms the heart of a lonely drifter in the 1880 Arizona Territory... Prior to this I'd only read one other book by Ms. Greenwood called "Rose" which I enjoyed. And while this one was sweet and charming, it was a little slow and not very believable either. The entire story takes place in a handful of days, but after just one day of knowing each other they were already admitting their love. And while the words were spoken and the connection implied, I simply didn't feel any sparks between this couple. Joe and Mary were both really nice people, and although Joe appears somewhat gruff, he was a truly kind man. Because Mary was pregnant this was not a passionate read and contained only a couple of chaste kisses. Although not too exciting, it was still a touching tale of what Christmas is all about.
A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE by Connie Mason - 4 STARS
A Yuletide birth brings a wealthy businessman and a penniless immigrant the happiness they have always desired in 1867 New York City... I've read numerous Connie Mason stories before and some I've loved, others I haven't. This was definitely one of her more tender tales about a young and sweet Irishwoman who shows a gentleman and his two children how to give and receive the love and affection they so desperately need. Megan and Gray were both endearing characters as were the kids. The story takes place over a couple of months time, so the developing love between this couple was much more believable than in Greenwood's story. But once again I felt like the romance really needed something more than just a few chaste pecks. This also had a paranormal aspect (a ghost) that I wasn't quite feeling, but overall it was a very touching and lovely little story.

Christmas Miracles edition by Connie Mason Leigh Greenwood Romance eBooks Reviews
Wonderfully written about how hard it is for someone to express love. A heart warming story about life's struggles for a widow who is pregnant and an immigrant from Ireland. Finds a family to love and be loved.
Christmas stories are favorites for me and these were good. Stories of the healing power of love especially at Christmas.
Loved both stories.
